Grants Coordinator III


This position that reports to the director of development will assist in identifying funding and award opportunities, support the development of grant/award proposal/application and submissions, and coordinate post-award management. This individual also will support the Director and Curators with research, programming and analysis for support of their programming and research objectives.

Minimum qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university required and a minimum of four to five years of direct experience in the area of research administration (proposal submission and non-financial post-award management) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Delegated Limited Submission Authority (DLSA) status typically is expected to be attained at this level within one to two years.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Ability to identify funding and award opportunities, prepare and submit proposals, craft budgets and budget justifications; familiarity with policies of major federal and non-federal sponsors; ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel; excellent art and culture writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize work objectives and work independently overseeing multiple projects.

Excellent oral, written and organizational skills. Able to juggle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and demonstrated flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities. Knowledge of the corporate, foundation and government philanthropy landscape. Familiarity in Microsoft and blackbaud (database).

Physical Demands: Carry mail totes weighing 25 pounds; bending, squatting for filing and sitting for long periods of time.
