Georgia Museum of Art
The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia is seeking an associate curator in the field of European art, with additional knowledge and experience in the field of American art. The associate curator will develop and maintain an inventory of works of art for the museum's Pierre Daura Center. He or she will also develop exhibitions, publications, and symposia in conjunction with colleagues. Other duties include collections research, the production of curatorial and general museum correspondence, conducting public tours and lectures, assisting with intern supervision, cultivating donors, and attending occasional after-hours events, in addition to other duties as assigned. The curator of European art will supervise the position.
A master's degree (M.A.) in Art History or Museum Studies is required, along with proficiency in French, Spanish, and/or Catalan. The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable in the history of Western art from the late 19th to mid-20th century. Demonstrated ability in project management and experience in writing catalogue essays, developing programs, and working with donors is strongly preferred. High attention to detail required.
